In continuing the pursuit of bringing intentional, relational, educational gatherings to the event filmmaking community, IN[FOCUS] is excited to announce In[Focus] 2013 for January 21-24 in Los Angeles, California.
In 2013, we will take a pilgrimmage to the seat of filmmaking authority in order to explore how we can become THE authority in our own market. From becoming more than a success, to becoming #1 in your market.
Through 12 platform presentations from innovative industry leaders, In[Focus] 2013 will share with you how to be THE first person on the minds of brides, event planners, and local media when they are in need of an event filmmaker.
You’ve come through the Gateway, you’re building a Legacy, and now it’s time to become THE Authority in your market, and to maintain that position once you get there.

The Millenium Biltmore has been featured in hundred’s of feature films, television shows, and commercials. You have certainly seen the Crystal Ballroom (where we will be conducting our platform sessions and award ceremony) on screen a time or two. It has served as the setting for scenes in Pretty in Pink (prom scene), True Lies (tango), The Bodyguard, and dozens of other pictures.
Most notably, The Crystal Ballroom is the birthplace of the Academy Awards. The Biltmore hosted the Oscars on 8 occasions from 1931-1942, and such notables as Jimmy Stewart, Clark Gable, and Bette Davis received the statue there.
Kareoke will be going down at Salvage, but there will be plenty of other nightspots to gather after a hard day of learning. Join your friends at Casey’s Irish Pub, The Golden Gopher, Las Perlas, Seven Grand, and The Varnish.
Dining – if you want it, you can get it in downtown. Just around the block, you’ve got the freshest seafood around at The Water Grill. You should also check out Cicada, Drago Centro, Chaya, Cafe Pinot, and Esaan.
Culture – you are within walking distance of the L.A. Philharmonic/Disney Concert Hall, The Music Center, the Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Center Theater Group.
Entertainment – it’s Los Angeles, so it’s not hard to find. Hop on the Red Line at Pershing Square Station just outside the hotel, and a $3.00 ticket will get you a roundtrip tube ride to everything Hollywood has to offer. Take a tour of the Universal Studios or Warner Brother’s lot, stalk movie stars at their residences, or catch a concert at legendary venues such as The Roxy or The Troubadour.
