BAPVA Meeting – Monday 2-20-2017 @ 6:30pm
Working With DJ’s + Color Matching Cameras
We are kicking off our first BAPVA meeting in 2017 with a double header program. First up will be a presentation by Oren Arieli about his approach to color matching cameras. Often times we must use different brands and models of cameras on multi-camera shoots. This presents an editing challenge when attempting to make the footage from each camera match. Learn how to make this task easier to do. Please join in with your own tips and questions.
Next up will be a panel discussion led by Mike Bowns of DJMB Entertainment, Gabriel Esparza of DJ Pudgey, Eric Yee of Spintronix Entertainment and Henry Kim & Paul Burchfield of Big Fun Disc Jockeys.
This will be an interactive program where we can share ideas and questions. DJ’s and MC’s are a very important part of weddings and other events. It’s important to work together effectively to maximize the services provided to the clients. A key aspect to working with DJ’s and MC’s is capturing good audio. Wedding and event films can be no better than the recorded audio. Without that, the results are disappointing and amateurish no matter how good the video is. The panel discussion is a great opportunity to share valuable tips and methods.
Mike Bowns is from Milpitas CA and has been a DJ for fourteen years. He is President of the Bay Area DJ Chapter of the ADJA (American Disk Jockey Association.) His philosophy is to provide quality service with an elegant and fun atmosphere to make events a memorable occasion. He also specializes in Mood and Dance Lighting Effects to enhance the event experience. Mike has trained MC’s in the MarBecca Method.
